Ordinary umbrellas rely on a handful of thin metal ribs. Luma pairs a rose gold aluminium frame with 32 reinforced fibreglass FlexGuard™ ribs that flex under a gust and spring back into shape, so it gives instead of snapping.

How does it handle wind?
FlexGuard™ ribs are built to flex under strong gusts and return to shape, where ordinary metal ribs would bend or snap. In very strong wind, angle the canopy into the wind.
